In California, an escrow company is the third party who oversees the transactional paperwork between the buyer and the seller. The fact that your real estate agent has switched companies will only affect the way your agent will be paid by his/her company and should not affect your transaction. The brokerage is being paid a commision for the sale and it will be dependent on that company to share the commission with the agent based on their contractual arrangement. - Tue Apr 15 2008, 11:32
