Kelly - you ask a very tough question. Besides building size and location, you also have to factor in the resale history, age of the development, the assessments & ammenities, the building financials & budget, and the management company & association. Your question makes a very good case for finding a solid buyers agent with strong knowledge of the buildings in River North/ West and South Loop. - Tue Jan 8 2008, 17:57
I agree with Jennifer on the continued growth of South Loop. Retailers are making huge investments in the area based on the residential sales and new residential development. You may also want to look at the Fulton River District... it is starting to see some very positive growth with the Jewel flagship store that is currently under construction and several new developments like 740 Fulton, Trio and K Station. If you are looking at a 5-7 year investment, either area is excellent. Each has a different feel to it though, you just need to decide which neighborhood makes you feel more at home. Let me know if you have any questions on the developments - chuckgullett@gmail.com
