You say the most expensive home sold for $200000, but how comparable was it to this home? Adjustments should be made for size, lot, rooms and amenities. Then deduct for the roof which I would guess would be more than $5000. unless they are just overlaying. There is no set percentage below asking, just a fair price for the property. - Fri Jul 4 2008, 12:43
Try checking this website:
http://www.bestplaces.net/. You can search by zipcode. I would also call the police department.

I would definitely let the neighbors know, if they are trustworthy. Also, consider lowering the rent slightly if possible to find a tenant quickly. Don't forget your insurance will need to be changed if you no longer occupy the property. - Fri Jun 13 2008, 06:21
With all the foreclosures/short sales, there are affordable homes just about everywhere now. Save as much as you can in the next year. I don't think renting is better because in the end you have nothing and you don't get the tax benefits you do with owning. - Thu Jun 12 2008, 08:35
That depends on what is most important to you, price or proximity to beaches, etc. - Tue Jun 3 2008, 09:01
