What are the pros and cons of buying a townhouse vs. a single family house?

Dmitry, Good morning, as for the pros and cons it really depends on the prefernce you want. Is your lifestyle busy with no time to maintain the outside of the property? If yes then maybe a townhome is right for you. If you prefer to garden and play with landscapes then mayb e a townhom is not the answer for you. The main key in alot of cases does come down to the budget. There are plenty of townhome communites that offer more sq ft for the price versus a single family. If you are buying for the first time it maybe a better peace of mind to look at townhomes versus singles. the last thing i will say is regardless of which way you go in your search Location is key to resale whenever that may be for you downt he road. i hope this helps. Good morning, Robbinsville like most areas always seem to have small pockets that that do better than others. Basically, the overall area has proven itself to be and remain very active despite the media reports on housing. the area has alot to offer between, new schools, highways, newer construction, and lifestyle amenities. As for well and septic it can be the double edged sword if not in the right condition and location for the property it self. let me know if this helps and if you need anymore guidance in the areas of choice. Good morning, in searching for a home without childern , sure schools don't seem important. the reality of NJ is that resale is based strongly on the demand for top rated school districts. your right that Ewing will get you more house but you may not be pleased with the overall area because of the shift in school stats. Check out my website for school stats to compare.the comprimise maybe looking in lawrenceville, E Windsor, Mansfield, Bordentown, Even parts of S Brunswick. Let me know if I can help in any way.

How is Princeton Landing? The TH there seems to be expensive but they look good on paper. Any experiences?

Hi Atul, Princeton Landing is a great community , but i dont think based on your criteria it will fit the bill. I do however recommend looking in the Dayton area. The commute will be alittle easier for you to train, park/ride etc. Also another communtiy maybe Princeton walk in addition to Summerfield, or even Monmouth walk. let me know if I can assist in any other way. - Tue May 27 2008, 13:35

We have checked out properties in NJ, and we noticed how few options there are for contemporary homes!

Hello, there are alot of contemporary homes but they are mixed as far as placement. Plainboro and S Brunswick maybe another option for oyu to search as well. Happy to assist you through the process because it is not that easy to just click a link and have them all pop up.
