I would love to hear what other agents and consumers think, but to get us started, I wrote a short post on the Trulia 60010 blog. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. - Fri Sep 12 2008, 14:30
Great question! And, the good news is that the answer is "yes"! August and December are super-slow months in the real estate business year. Normally, business picks up after Labor Day. The weekend after Labor Day weekend is the unofficial start of the fall season. Some analysts say that the fall season is the second busiest time of year, spring being the busiest.
I just wrote an article last night on my blog about this very topic. The address is below; you might find it helpful. - Tue Aug 12 2008, 12:51
I think that's a great point; I forgot about that. The election could have a big impact on the mood of the country, i.e., more optimistic or pessimistic. And, surely, that will impact our spring market, beginning as soon as February perhaps. Thanks for your answer! - Fri Aug 8 2008, 10:21
I suggest the Barrington area. North Barrington, Lake Barrington, and Lake Zurich have nice homes in your price range. The schools are great and the commute to Highland Park would not be bad. We're west of Highland Park. The homes in this area have character and decent lot sizes. You can email me if you would like to find out more or you can check out my local area blog, below. Thanks!

This is a great question. There has been a lot of discussion about this issue in our office over the last few weeks. I agree that eventually there will be some sort of solution, but in the interim, showing property could become a little more challenging. As I'm sure you know, this concern is particularly pressing for towns like Barrington, which has agents who are members of both RANWC and NSBAR.
I could imagine a scenario where combo lockboxes are brought in next to each board-specific box in order to allow for easy access. If that happens, we are going to have security concerns for the seller. So, I hope the boards come up with a solution soon. - Wed Feb 13 2008, 17:21
