About Me
I moved from Michigan to Arizona in 2003 with my 2 children, who at the time were 10 and 6.
My career had been in radio and advertising, most spent in Michigan and I enjoyed a few years living at the Jersey Shore.
My parents moved to Sun City Grand in Surprise in 1999. After visiting, we were hooked! We all enjoy the casual lifestyle, countless year round outdoor activities and the sunshine!
My experience in relocating to Arizona gives me complete empathy for others making the move. I understand buyer's thirst for information, curiousity about different communities and do my best to help them anticipate challenges they may not have thought of (Never leave lipstick in your car in the summer!) I also came here with school-aged children and education is something I am very passionate about. I have had experience with the public schools and the charter schools. I'm currently the Chairperson of the Governing Board at my 7th grader's school and am very excited about the all of the new opportunities in the area for my high schooler.

I can't think of myself as a salesperson, because I never think in terms of sales, I think in terms of people. The people I have helped find their first home, their dream home or their retirement home. Let me add that my experience in the active adult communities here, such as Grand, Sun City West, Sun Village, etc has showed what a wonderful time of life is ahead. There is such a joy in these communities from people living the life they have always dreamed of-golf, sunshine, friends, free time, volunteer opportunities, travel, continuing education and second careers born out of desire and passion.

Phoenix sports teams are moving to the west valley too! So taking in a Cardinals or Coyotes game is just a short trip away. Of course baseball spring training is a big favorite too. The Diamondbacks can be seen right here in Surprise Stadium playing the Kansas City Royals or the Texas Rangers. As for the Phoenix Suns-well they are worth the 45 minute drive downtown to see them!

Truly, it doesn't get much better than this!

The home is not listed as available in the MLS. It was last listed in 2006, but the listing expired without a sale. - Thu Aug 21 2008, 10:49

Hi LeAnn,

Sun CIty is seen as a great spot for renovators and boomers looking for a well priced active adult community. The original buyers are into their 90s and are being replaced by those in their 50s. The homes were built in the 60s and 70s, so if remodeling hasn't been done to the home yet, buyer's will be expecting an affordable price. Many flippers have come in and taken homes down to the studs and started all over again -on golf course and lake view properties in particular. The trend is to redo with all of the bells and whistles "todays" buyers want and then sell it for a couple hundred thousand more. You can have 2 homes with similar sq ft next to each other and see a price difference of $200,000-$300,000. If the home is an original-I would target the younger crowd looking for investment opportunities. If the home has had modest updates and could work as move in ready, I think the biggest challenge is that many want-to-be Arizonans are having problems selling back in the midwest, etc so they aren't comfortable committing to a property here yet. Would your friend be in a position to rent back from any potential buyers? That may be an incentive to a buyer who is scared to move forward . Feel free to contact me if I can be of help 623 640-4330 - Thu Aug 21 2008, 10:36

Generally speaking you need to bring less money to the closing table if you close at the end of the month. You need to pay interest per day for every day left in the month of your closing. So if it is the 29th you only pay for the 30th and/or 31st, as opposed to a close on the 5th when you would gave another 25 or so days of interest left to pay. I'd try to avoid closing on the very last day though. One delay in closing will put you into the next month. - Wed Aug 20 2008, 13:22
