It sounds like you do not trust your agent. You should have hired an agent that you did trust. Your antagonism toward your agent will work against you through the entire transaction. You may have been penny wise and pound foolish. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 12:54
Go with an FHA loan and find a buyer agent who works well with first time homebuyers. Use MEMBER SEARCH on Trulia. Call several on their cell phones. Ask them to tell you about their experiences with first time homebuyers. FHA lets you do low down payments. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 12:48
I used to live in East Brunswick, and moved to Red Bank. The only thing I can say is that I wished I would have done it sooner. When you say 1 hour commute, does that mean New York? Red Bank, Middletown, Fair Haven, Little Silver, Rumson are one hour commute and have great schools. Use MEMBER SEARCH on Trulia to find agents. Call several from any area you think you might like. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 12:44
Patrick, I did not mean to offend you. I was trying to be funny back and joke with you. It appears that I am not as good at humor as you. I am glad to know that you are a good realtor. Thank you for sharing.
Chirs, I duplicate my comment to you that I said to Paul. I find it creepy and unprofessional that you want to call out and degrade your peers. If you really intended constructive help, you would send a private message to a person and suggest that they make changes. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 12:33
Paul, What does not seem professional is much of what you wrote in this q and a. What seems creepy to me is your need to attack your peers.
Rudy, Please excuse my call out of Paul. It was not meant to be mudslinging but a call to attention of how poorly he comes across. If he listens, I have done him a favor.
April, I agree with much of what you say, but sometimes you miss the mark. I will agree with you that I like to read Sylvia and Deborah, and I track their q and a.
Patrick, You are very funny. Thank you for the entertainment, but I would also like to know if you are a good realtor. - Sat Apr 19 2008, 15:29
I have heard stories about buyers getting sketchy communication from banks. Search Trulia for conversations about buying from banks and you will find loads of complaints. Where was your agent in all of this? You only talk about the listing agent and the loan lady. Your agent should have been the one bugging the bank and keeping you informed. If your agent was unable to get past bank run around, you should have gone to the manager. It sounds like your problem was with the bank. - Sun Apr 20 2008, 12:18
