It has been very frustrated working with Trulia since many unit has been SOLD but not updated, and when you call the cell phone of the listing agent to find out, no one answer but voice message to call yet another person, and keep playing phone tags ... till finally found it has been SOLD!!!
Why not Trulia just update the info when it was sold??? so that we buyers do not need to waste so much time??? Isn't the purpose of Trulia to help buyers buy effectively????
Dear Emily,
Yes, you won't see it because as soon as I saw this, I went check on MLS and saw it is indeed sold under attorney review, and just report for Trulia to remove it so that new users to Trulia may not be confused by the outdated info.
I think Trulia should have its own staff to monitor MLS to "proactively" update the inconsistent info to prevent time wasting of the readers, and may be increase the creditbility of Trulia.
In the mean time, I will start monitoring the MLS and Trulia and report all the errors for you in Greater Edison area for Trulia. The program is very easy, just have MLS send out alert when status changed, say, from A to AR or U or even C (funny uh? some property would change status from A to C directly in just a few days like this 10 HOLLY LN, Piscataway). And, then for the program to search Trulia to see if itsstatus not yet changed, then file an error report to Trulia...
At Goldman Sachs, I have all idle computer cycles working very busy 24x7 to do sanity check, so I suggest that Trulia Programmers to write a cron job doing sanity check overnight and update all the inconsistent status between MLS and Trulia; that way, Trulia can be even 10 times more accurate.

Hi Robert,
I apologize for the frustration you've experienced recently. Trulia receives listing information from many sources and in this case it sounds as though the source of this listing information hasn't changed the status of this listing to sold.
When you view a listing on Trulia and then click on a link to view more details or photos you are actually leaving Trulia and visiting the website of the listing agent or broker. They need to update the information on their site to indicate that the listing is sold and then the listing status will update on Trulia automatically.
Hopefully your calls have prompted the broker or agent to do so. At present I'm haven't been able to locate this listing on our site. If you do still see this listing as active on Trulia you can easily report the error to us if you do the following:
-access the listing on Trulia
-click on the 'Report listing error' link next to the red flag
-complete the form that pops up and click 'Send'
Best Wishes,

Sorry you wasted your time. I understand your frustration with telephone calls that are not being returned. Please see my response to your other post for more information on how Trulia gathers information. I sense you don't like real estate agents as you don't seem to be using one. You can do MLS searches on almost any agent's website without necessarily working with the agent. The MLS search will not display pending and sold properties and if you can't find it on the website, it's either pendin, sold or cancelled. I hope this helps.
