How easy it to get around Pearland with public transportation (buses, trains, subways, etc)?

Is it possible to live in this city without a car?

Public Transportation in Houston and the surrounding areas, including Pearland, is absolutely dismal. You have to have a car. You can't even walk places, because the roads are large and busy and there is no place to walk. And, if you are not used to it, the weather is much too hot and humid most of the time to venture outside without air-conditioning.
