Tom is right. Chicago is a vast and varied city, and there are many "diversified" neighborhoods one could recommend to you. There are too many variables that must be specified in order to be able to make suitable recommendations for you and your situation.

1) Your budget
2) Your need for certain amenities, like access to public transportation, walking-distance shopping, etc.
3) How far you are willing to commute for work
4) Your lifestyle preferences (condo, single family home, yard, no maintenance, etc. etc. etc.)
