You should call the local property appraiser with the specific address of the property as tax rates maybe different depending upon the property's location and/or special taxing district.

Although the rate of taxation is the same the actual tax varies from property based on the total assessment that the town places on the home, note this is different from an independent appraisal or fair market value.

Oops....I just noticed you are in New Jersey and not California. We have a Union City, California.

Property taxes are based on 1% of the sales price plus bonds and assessments for the community. In Union City they are running about 1.25% of the purchase price. Hope this helps.

All you need to do is call the city hall and ask for the property tax collector's departmnt. They can tell you tell you the tax rate. If you would like to know the property tax on a particular property , I can get that info for you. Please contact me through my website.
