My advice is do NOT go on the Internet looking for mortgage brokers, unless you are just looking up the phone number of someone who was recommended. YOu will open yourself up to alot of spam and get some unscrupulous lenders from other states that know nothing about NJ real estate closing packages. Your realtor can recommend good brokers to you, but if you would like the name of someone who is excellent and completely reliable, I would recommend Terry Stevens from Wells Fargo highly. She is in the Paramus office, and I have used her for over 20 years. You can also call Coldwell Banker Mortgage 7 days a week, and they can preapprove you in 15 minutes flat.
James,
If you want a broker, Vincent Daino from Northeast Community Lending is great. He owns the company and all his reps must undergo some of the strictest training in the country before he will employ them. (A 4 week course in Atlanta GA and they're in NJ--if they don't pass, he won't hire them.) You can reach him at 732-359-0229. I can also highly recommend John McManmon withWachovia, 732-996-0060 and Richie Gill with Countrywide, 908-489-0390. Good luck.
Did you try going on Bankrate.com and looking up rates and brokers?
Hi James,
Check out Corey Grushin here on Trulia. We deal with him in my office and have found him to be an honest and excellent MB. Link to his profile is below:
