Most of the expansion in Lakeland is moving north of Interstate 4 and it is continuing to expand. If you are interested, I am selling a manufactured home in Cypress Lakes, which is approximately 8 miles north of the interstate, close to shopping, restaurants and medical facilities. If you are interested in a 2 bedroom 2 bath 1 den home with an attached two car garage, please contact me at u2bnpc@msn.com. Best of luck to you in your search, you will find Lakeland to be a wonderful place to live and play.

As others said, it depends on what part of Lake Parker ( it is a huge lake) that said, there are some really bad areas near it. if you are planning on moving to lakeland and don't have the chance to really come check it out yourself, I suggest looking at homes on the south side (south west specifically) it is just generally way nicer here.

The answer to your question is yes, no & maybe - depending on the specific area.. This is a mix of older homes with long time residents and a lot of newer owners that are from a variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds. It is probably of average safety, but Lake Parker is a large lake and it depends on the individual neighborhood. The W side of the lake is near the hospital and many doctors offices, rehab clinics and insurance offices. There is a drug area on the SW side of the lake and the N side has a MH park and a power plant. There is also a power plant on the SE corner of the lake. There are some condos and newer homes on the SE . You need to zero in on the specific part of Lake Parker and then check with the City Police department or with the County Sheriff for the E side of the lake.
Lake Parker is a large lake with wonderful views, lots of birds, good for skiing and boating and fishing.

I grew up around living near Lake Parker. We lived arcross from Tigertown stadium. I was just there last week for spring break. I used to hate living in Lakeland. Now I wish I could afford it. Yes the Lake Parker area is safe.
