For many years buyers have been leery of real estate agents.  Working in the industry for over 7 years and with many different brokers, I can see why buyers are leery.  I have seen some very unethical practices and more simply, very poor service.  The worst part is that for the Buyers to write a contract on a property, they must sign an exclusive agreement to work with that agent for a specific amount of time. 

In Colorado, the state approved representation contracts do not allow for buyers and sellers to fire their representative during the term of the representation agreement.  The bottom line-if you dont like your agent or they provide poor service, you are stuck with them until the agreement ends.
